WSET Level 3 Wine Kit 1


Kit 1 contains white wines from Continental Europe covered in the early sections of the course. you'll taste wines from Bordeaux, Loire, Burgundy and Germany.

All wines are in 50ml PET bottles. The specific wines included are:
Adler Auslese Riesling (A23)
A lovely Mosel Riesling done semi-dry at 8% alcohol. This Auslese has all the trademark German Reisling character with soft fruit, subtle minerality and lovely balance.
Schieferkopf Dry Riesling (A32)
Acid freaks rejoice! This dry Riesling shows the classic stone minerality and petrol on the nose with floral aromatics as well. The palate yields citrus, green apple and stonefruits with mouth watering acidity. A great food wine or one simply just to drink.
Sohm & Kracher Gruner (A52)
Aldo Sohm and Gerhard Kracher, two Austrians, first met in New York, in 2004. Their friendship was cemented over a shared devotion to great food and wine. It wasn’t long before they realized this love extended to the dry grüner veltliners of their homeland — and a desire to make them.
Kuentz Bas Alsace Blanc (A53)
Maison Kuentz-Bas was first established by the Kuentz family in 1795, and the domaine as we know it today was forged through a marriage that joined the Kuentz and Bas families in 1895. Nestled in the town of Husseren-les-Châteaux, it sits at one of the highest points in Alsace, and the vineyards stretch out from the village over an area of ten hectares. More than two hundred years of tradition and vineyard pedigree have made these wines perennial favorites, with the grand crus of Eichberg and Pfersigberg earning the highest esteem.
Chateau de Pizay Morgon (A62)
The Chateau de Pizay is one of the oldest and most famous estates of the Beaujolais region. Since the Middle Ages the fine wines of the Château de Pizay have been appreciated by Beaujolais-lovers across the world.The vineyard, based in Morgon covers 100 acres in the Appellations of Morgon, Regnie, Beaujolais Villages. and Beaujolais.The Morgon includes parcels on the slopes of the famous Cote de Py from which they produce several special cuvees.
Pierre Guillemot Savigny Les Beaune (A64)
The Guillemot family has worked Savigny-lès-Beaune vines for eight generations (!) and produces wines with classic Burgundian finesse and balance, all while leaving us a reminder of Savigny’s rustic character.
Bouchard Pere et Fils Bourgogne Reserve (A66)
This Bourgogne A.O.C. is subject to a special selection of 100% Pinot Noir grapes that come principally from the renowned communes of the Côte de Beaune, like Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune, Savigny, Santenay and Maranges Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils, is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, perpetuating tradition for nearly 3 centuries and 9 generations. In 1775, Joseph Bouchard acquired his first vineyards in Volnay in the famous “Les Caillerets” climat and started to develop the family’s vineyard holdings.
