WSET Level 1 Wine Kit

This kit has been designed by the educators at the Wine Education Institute to help their online students in their studies. If you are interested in taking the online version of this course, details are here.

This kit includes the following and is designed to meet the requirements for the WSET Level 1 Wine course.
Prisma Sauvignon Blanc (A22)
Chosen for typicity of Sauvignon Blanc with a blend of character of Sancerre and of New Zealand styles. From the steep, high elevation vineyards of Casablanca, this sustainably farmed Sauv Blanc has everything going its way. Aromatic nose, bright palate, lemon, lime grapefruit and undertones of minerality. Mouth watering deliciousness, pairs excellent with a variety of foods.
Adler Auslese Riesling (A23)
A lovely Mosel Riesling done semi-dry at 8% alcohol. This Auslese has all the trademark German Reisling character with soft fruit, subtle minerality and lovely balance.
Earthworks Shiraz (A24)
Everything we want in Barossa Shiraz. Dark brooding nose of blackberry and plum with that unique Barossa aromas touched with mocha. The palate brings a welcome red fruit to the darkness with some strawberry hints. Little bit of vanilla, pepper and boysenberry as well with just a hint of oaky grip too.
Gen 5 Chardonnay (A25)
Lodi Chardonnay with medium oak and warm climate character. Bright golden yellow in color, the Gen 5 Chardonnay leads with classic varietal fruit aromas of apple, pear, ginger and lemon blossom, followed by subtle vanilla notes. In the glass, a bright acidity is broadened by lemon custard and honey flavors. Nicely oaked but not enough to overwhelm the delicate fruit.
Sur de los Andes Cabernet Sauvignon (A27)
This winery produces premium wines in the Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza province with grapes from throughout the Mendoza region, in particular Agrelo and Vistalba in Luján de Cuyo and San Carlos in the Uco Valley.
Chateau la Cheze Bordeaux (A59)
In the heart of the hillsides overlooking the Garonne, our 30 hectare estate (9 of which are vines) has been producing a predominantly Merlot wine since the 16th century. Its clayey-gravelly soil, combined with environmentally friendly, sustainable vineyard management and traditional winemaking, gives this Cotes de Bordeaux its finesse and elegance
Chateau Roumieu Lacoste Sauternes (A75)
Roumieu-Lacoste is in the climat of Haut Barsac, an area famous (and in fact more renowned historically than the Sauternes appellation as a whole) for its particularly robust, powerfully styled moelleux with pronounced acidity.
Fox Brook White Zinfandel (A77)
This is a pale pink wine with aromas of strawberries, raspberries and fresh peach. The taste of sweet and juicy fruits is apparent with each sip, making this a refreshing wine for any time of year. Pair this White Zinfandel with spicy Asian and Latin cuisine.
